Community Program Habitat For Humanity Meeting

Campbell County Habitat For Humanity holds volunteer meetings every third Tuesday of each month at the LaFollette United Methodist Church. A pot luck dinner starts at 6:30pm and the meeting at 7:00pm. New volunteers are needed for Habitat to continue their mission.

Fundraiser Benefit Flea Market

A two-day flea market to benefit Cedar Hill Baptist Church will be held Friday and Saturday, August 1st & 2nd from 9:00am to 4:00pm each day. Proceeds benefit the purchase of kitchen equipment for the church's Family Life Center.

Public Health MEDIC Blood Drive

Medic Regional Blood Center wants to send some lucky donors off to the races at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 23rd. Donors who give blood at any location now through August 15 will be automatically entered to win a pair of tickets to Irwin Tools Race Night. Medic has three sets of tickets up for grabs. Donors are always welcome at 1601 Ailor Avenue or 11000 Kingston Pike in Farragut but community drives are also planned including one on August 8th at Indian Mound Baptist Church in Jacksboro from 11:00am to 6:00pm inside Fellowship Hall.

Community Program Ladies Luncheon

"Get It Right....No Excuses" is a ladies' luncheon to be held on August 13th from 11:30am to 1:00pm at the LaFollette United Methodist Church. Connie Greiner of the UT Extension Office will discuss such topics as directives for health, organ donation, memorial dedication and much more. Also, Gerry Gorst will speak about "Getting It Right". This award-winning stand-up comic and National Board Certified Physician's Assistant has worked for JAG and has also won bronze, silver and gold medals in downhill skiing in Colorado. Reservations and cancellations are essential by 12:00pm on Friday, August 8th. Call 562-1962 or 437-2524. Complimentary childcare is available for preschool children by reservation only.
